Our Room 4 Planter Box

Jasmine you did an amazing job helping to plan and plant our garden. You did a great job planning what would go in our planter box, you had some great ideas. You talked to me lots about all the fabulous things that you wanted to put in there. When we were planting flowers you very carefully put the flowers into the holes and made sure to pat the dirt down around them. I know you are going to be very responsible and take great care of our planter box. I know you were sad to see no Jasmine flowers, but they will be there soon!

Swimming Fun

Room 4 have been so lucky to be in the pool this term. We have also been lucky to have Mrs Howard in there with us, helping us learn some water skills. Miss Donnell wanted to see us practicing our kicking as that has been a big focus to help us build our water confidence.

Syllable Clap

WALT find the syllables in our name.

During Maths we have been learning to find the different syllables in our name. We have been taking turns to clap our name and to listen and count how many claps we do. Check out our learning!

Junior School Assembly

Congratulations Jasmine for getting a certificate at our Junior Assembly. You have impressed me this term with how respectful you have been inside and outside the classroom. I can always count on you to use your manners. Tino pai!

Making Word Strings

During phonics we have been exploring word strings.  We start with a 3 letter word that has a consonant, vowel consonant pattern.  We break the word up into individual sounds and then write each sound down.  Next we brainstorm all the different rhyming words and sound them out until we have created a string of words that rhyme.  This technique teaches learners to isolate sounds and allows them the chance to practice recording what they can hear.
