Matariki 2019

What a way to start the day!  This morning we celebrated Matariki by having breakfast together.  Nga Tamariki got to enjoy some cereal and toast and a warm milo.  Afterwards we all went outside and did Jump Jam together.

Matariki is a star constellation which is visible in the dawn skies during late June and early July.  It's appearance was traditionally used by Maori to mark the coming of the new year.  It is a time of coming together and what better way to do that is by sharing kai together?

Happy Matariki!
